  I spent several minutes walking around the store looking at incredibly beautiful displays. I couldn’t find any people to help me, so I walked toward the office area at the back of the store. I told one woman I am remodeling two bathrooms and am gathering ideas. I asked if I could take a few pictures of items that I like. She seemed puzzled. A second woman, remaining seated, looked over her shoulder and said that they didn’t like to have that done because people “take our ideas and then go on line to make purchases.” I think that is a risk merchants take with any walk-in customer whether they take pictures or just have a good visual memory. I understand how merchants feel, but I think this merchant does not understand how major household items are purchased in the internet age. I often begin by looking on line for ideas and ball park prices. Then I go to a bricks and mortar store to see how the object “feels” and “sits” with me. Not all shoppers do the sopping in the bricks and mortars and purchase on line. I am willing to pay a local merchant’s premium for expert advice, support and maintenance if it should be required. It is clear that this merchant wasn’t prepared to provide any of these things. On line web sites are more welcoming than this in-person merchant who has no people skills and doesn’t have a clue how to turn a shopper into a customer.

  Wish there was a rating lower than 1 Star. Cool stuff and neat looking store. BUT, who needs details when the pretentiousness and terrible customer service is this bad. I realize Boulder appreciates cool products that sometimes run on the expensive side, but do they have to come with a side serving of snobbery? No, they do not. Save yourself the trip, be happy, and do not go there.
